Peas for hypertension and kidney diseases

The researchers in Canada have reported that the proteins found peas are promising additives in food or natural dietary supplements, as a novel way to the fight against the arterial hypertension and chronic kidney disease (CKD), which threaten the living conditions affecting millions of people around the world.

The study will be presented at the American Chemical Society of the 237th National Meeting, determines that it is the first natural food that can relieve symptoms of CKD, according to the scientists say.

The peas have long been recognized as nutritional superstars, have healthy amounts of protein, dietary fiber, vitamins and a low-fat, no cholesterol.
