Hypertension
According to the American Heart Association, almost one in three people in the United States has high blood pressure, but almost a third of these people do not know they have high blood pressure, because it is a silent disease, so people can have high blood pressure for years without experiencing symptoms or know they have it.
The first number (the highest) in a reading of blood pressure is the systolic pressure and the second lowest number or it is called the diastolic pressure, whose guidelines according to the National Herat Institute are:
* A blood pressure is normal below 120/80 mm Hg.
* Pre-hypertension is that the systolic pressure between 120 to 139 or diastolic pressure between 80 and 89.
* Stage 1 hypertension, is the systolic pressure between 140 to 159 or diastolic pressure between 90 and 99.
* Stage 2 hypertension, is the systolic pressure more than 160 or diastolic pressure of 100 or higher.
The symptoms of Hypertension:
The high blood pressure usually causes no symptoms in the early stages and the symptoms associated with high blood pressure can include: dizziness or lightheadedness – headache – bleeding from the nose
The causes of Hypertension:
In most cases of high blood pressure, the American Heart Association said that there is no identified cause, because this type of high blood pressure is called the hypertension primary or essential hypertension, generated by a combination of factors, such as:
Weight: The larger the body mass, more pressure on the walls of arteries
